Hungry for some of the best southern style home cooking in town? Head over to Butler’s Soul Food on Groesbeck Street in Bryan.
Buttermilk fried chicken, smothered fried pork chops, mac & cheese, cornbread, ox tail, red beans…oh my. There’s nothing on the menu that doesn’t do a flavorful dance on your tongue before melting in your mouth.
The proprietor, Cheryl Butler, originally hails from the Big Easy, New Orleans. And the hospitality and fun atmosphere of the place reflect that heritage. Even better, this soul food place has a serious Cajun side, especially on Fridays when the buffet often features gumbo and étouffée.
Words can’t praise this place or the people who run it enough. You have to go try it yourself. Just drive South on N. Bryan Avenue from Downtown Bryan until you reach Groesbeck Street about half a mile south…
