Four College Station City Council Seats at Stake in November 2016 Election

The mayor’s seat and three places on the College Station City Council are at stake in the Nov. 8 general election. The deadline for filing for Mayor and Place 2 is August 22, and the deadline for Place 3 and 4 is August 25.

Mayor (General Election)
Full three-year term.

Place 2 (General Election)
Full three-year term.

Place 3 (Special Election)
One-year term to complete the unexpired term of Karl Mooney, who is running for mayor. The current term expires in November 2017.

Place 4 (Special Election)
Two-year term to complete the unexpired term of John Nichols, who is running for mayor. The current term expires in November 2018.

Eligibility
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens, qualified Texas voters, and College Station residents for at least one year prior to Election Day. Candidate information packets are availab le at the City Secretary’s Office at College Station City Hall, located at 1101 Texas Ave.

Important Dates
Aug. 22 – Candidate filing deadline
Oct. 11 – Voter registration deadline
Oct. 24-Nov. 4 – Early voting
Nov. 8 – Election Day
