As Bryan-College Station, Texas and its surrounding communities continue to remain an attractive destination for employers, Midway’s Century Square –one of the most highly anticipated mixed-use developments coming to the region – unveiled today a first look at 100 Park, an exclusive 250-unit multifamily complex designed to accommodate the unique needs of working professionals living or relocating into the area. 100 Park will anchor Century Square’s east end and is conveniently located adjacent to onsite dining and entertainment options.
Leading the interior design for 100 Park is Mayfield and Ragni Studio, aka MaRS, a Houston design firm whose work at the Texas Contemporary Art Fair earned them a place in Interior Design Magazine as one of the Top 100 Big Ideas. MaRS delivers spaces that are both sleek, inviting and full of interesting stories to tell.
“We are thrilled to work with the development team at Midway to provide an interior design that’s a little out-of-the-box, but still reflects the rich tradition and history that’s such an integral part of the community here in College Station,” says MaRS interior architect Kelie Mayfield.
Prospective residents also will be pleased to find that same design principal applied to the floorplans at 100 Park. Units will feature an airy interior lit by large windows, soft lighting and finished with rich wood accents throughout the unit – a modern architectural element that contrasts well against the overall sleekness of each apartment. Additional amenities include kitchen islands, custom wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances and wood flooring.
“We are very pleased to see 100 Park beginning to take shape at Century Square,” says Midway CEO Jonathan Brinsden. “Once complete, residents will have the best of both – the excitement and variety that comes with living within a mixed-use environment just steps from nearby shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, while still feeling a sense of synergy and connectivity with the surrounding neighborhood and university,” Brinsden adds.
Midway also partnered with Austin-based STG Design to oversee the architectural design of 100 Park. With a portfolio of projects including National Instruments, The Bill & Melinda Gates Computer Science Complex and Dell Computer Science Hall at The University of Texas at Austin, and Four Seasons Resort (West Indies), 100 Park will be STG Design’s first multifamily project to be developed outside of its home base in Austin, Texas.
“100 Park has given us a great opportunity to expand our expertise into a new market,” says Larry Meeks, AIA, principal at STG Design. “Midway placed a great deal of emphasis on designing specifically for the community of College Station. The overall design, the project amenities and each individual apartment plan reflects Midway’s focus on making this project a great addition to the community.”
100 Park will feature four floors with one and two bedroom floorplans . Square footage in each home ranges from 572 S.F. to 1,633 S.F. with the average size approximately 886 S.F., making this multifamily development one of the more spacious apartment communities in the Brazos Valley. Residents at 100 Park also will enjoy a high-end fitness facility, a social gathering lounge with a business center, a contemporary-designed pool, as well as access to a series of interconnected pathways.
“We are excited to see work continuing on a project that will do so much for the community of College Station,” says Texas A&M University System Chancellor, John Sharp. “100 Park will provide new housing options that will appeal to both our administrative team and faculty, while further enhancing the overall experience here at Texas A&M University.”
Century Square features 60 acres of preferred retail, restaurant, and entertainment options and 90,000 S.F. of Class-A office space outfitted in a contemporary, modern aesthetic. The development also will house two full service hotels, The George (160-rooms) and Cavalry Court (140-rooms), developed in partnership with the Houston-based luxury hotel management firm The Valencia Group. Both hotel concepts are set to elevate the travel experience for College Station visitors and will feature a mixture of outdoor elements and high-end accommodations not traditionally seen in the area. Century Square’s first phase is anticipated to be complete by fall of 2016.
